👍👏
Scotsman turned American? I'm struggling to decipher the accent 😂 beatiful bird and congrats on the completion!
I saw it in the restoration center on Sunday! She looks amazing!
Lots of chemtrails even back then😅
Beautiful job!
That would kick arse to be there. I saw one fly out of Dover AFB when I was stationed there
How would i become a volunteer or someone who restores these aircraft?
Fantastic job! I’ve been following since yall were building the landing gear. What’s next?
It looks absolutely beautiful, it’s a shame I won’t get to see it in person
Sono continuamente stupita dal coraggio e dalla convinzione con cui le donne si esprimono qui.🌺
Are you restoring this for flying condition or a static display?
Just watched a break down on the black bird. I love that RUclips recommended this to me
Great talk. I appreciate the deep dive into the engineering details of the German V-1.
No gun sight though, kinda odd its missing
So awesome.
Hey we traversed up there Saturday! Got to see you!
see ya next month
Whyat did he say? A 'bam'? A flying bam?
Awesome !!
Very informative program. Thanks.
4000 rpm when idle... Crazy. As an engineer and a bit of gearhead myself, I've been fascinated by this aeroplane for years. But it was the first time hearing how they used to start this monster. They broke all Buick engines in the US, using them as starting engines for the SR-71! Amazing!
The first one looked like a 75% hit ratio, amazing.
Excellent lecture and very informative. Like MatthewTaylor3 below has said, "I feel like I could build one based on the detail". In fact, I might even try one day.
Excellent presentation, captivating explanation.
I was born and raised in Sturgis and never knew this it if Airborne History!
Was that Robin Olds, then a Captain...
You can tell he really loves this SR-71 , what a gentleman he is , thankyou Sir , i see your passionate ❤
Clean the asstronaut
Great presentation!
UUUUGLY ASS plane
I reach that point too
I think a good engineer could design a new version which could function as a pulsejet then into ram mode for long distance flight good enough cheap drone engine for Ukraine to carry very heavy warheads WW II blockbuster size. use five engines at launch then turn 2 off for cruise to have in flight spares if needed. Rocket boost to launch.
I live about 60 miles to the south of London, and when I was a kid in the 1950s we used to find the remains of them in the woodland around my home. I don't think they had been directed to this area so must have malfunctioned and gone off course.
Shudda had 5 antennas not 4…
That screw holds the entire aircraft together. There's a cable that goes from that screw all the way to the tail section between the engine nozzles and above the tail hook. I was a Plane Captain. I know these things. HA!😂
Oh today their called Suicide Drones...
Who's from Masters of the air
Effing amazing how ingenious the Germans were when their backs were against the wall. Thank god they ran out of time and resources with lack of air superiority being their nemesis.
Animagrafs has a beautiful video on the engine. And it is one masterpiece of engineering for its time of development.
Comfortable 80 degrees?
It's NATO reporting name 💀
"You are nothing to the missile but just another position" omfg the devastation 😭
I'm a 59 year old man and I grew up with the Blackbird being the biggest and the baddest and the spookiest super weapon out there, this was magnificent listening to this gentleman talk about my hero, the SR71 BLACKBIRD!!!! A buddy of mine from high school after he graduated joined the Air Force and was stationed in Japan and actually pulled the film from these planes and developed them
Yunkers would have been the correct pronounciation because our J is pronounced like your Y. Sidenote/tip: theses days google translator is good enough with german pronunciacions. Type in the german word, set it to german at the top and then press the little loudspeaker icon. Greetings from Germany🙂
Great interview 👍
Back when horsepower was politically correct
Wow! I really liked this one! As an engineer I had vague understanding of what was needed to fly and guide a V1, but this thing is at one hand more sophisticated as I thought and at the other hand simpler than I thought. Thank you for this excellent class. I didn’t checked out the rest of your channel yet but it seems very promising.!
Great story, the OSS (precursor to the CIA) Printed up a bunch of fake Nazi newspapers with stories about how the Reich was failing and Hilter was crazy. They forged Nazi postage, and filled several mail bags of these fake papers. Then Allied aircraft dropped the mail bags on a freshly shot up train. The Nazi picked up the mail bags, say what they thought were legitimate postage, and delivered every fake newspaper to people throughout Germany.
